Sound design boutique company The Very Loud Indeed Co. has introduced its latest sample library for Native Instruments’ Kontakt software sampler.
Developed by veteran sound designer for videogames and The Very Loud Indeed Co.’s founder Richie Nieto, COIL: Mutated Scoring Guitars is a library based on recordings of electric and acoustic guitars, but instead of emulating those instruments, it provides a playground for “mutating” them into something unique and inspiring.
These recordings include short plucked notes, as well as loops for pad-like tones, performed using an EBow and processed extensively to give each layer a distinct flavor.
“All the sounds are organized in layers that can be mixed in an almost infinite number of ways to allow the user to create the exact instruments they need for their compositions,” says Nieto.
The library includes 858 audio files at 24 bit/48 kHz resolution. All the sound files are in WAV format, so they can be used in other samplers or directly in a DAW.
Available for the full version of Kontakt 6.8 or higher, COIL is on sale for the introductory price of $39 USD until May 22nd, 2025 (regular $79 USD).
